Are you going to SCUBAFEST? Do you know how to put up a DSMB safely and quickly? DSMB usage is a must for anyone diving in the worlds seas and oceans so if you don’t know how to deploy yours then this is the Club Aquasport workshop for you!
Club Aquasport is being SUPERSIZED for for you 2013. As a reward for settling your £60 bi-annual club fees this January we are going to give you £50 of it straight back to go towards your future dive training with us.
Yes, you are reading it right – hand over £60 and we give you £50 of it back.
The gift comes in the form of a training voucher you can use to fund your diver education with an exciting selection of PADI Specialties taking in the fun, the practical and the technical, including some you might never have thought of. Until now.
And, we will do the same in July as well. As offers go, I think you’ll struggle to find anything as generous as that anywhere else.

I know what you are thinking. “We haven’t even opened our Christmas presents or bid farewell to 2012 and Vini is already talking about next year.”
But time waits for no man as they say, and at Aquasport we’re looking forward to an exciting start to 2013. We’re already planning our trips, an exciting range of new courses and some new club initiatives, more on that will come later this month.
To kick start the year we have a great offer for Club Aquasport members: The new Night Diver Try Dive in our heated training pool. It’s designed for those interested in the PADI Night Diver Specialty training programme but who want to know what it will be like diving in the dark.
Meanwhile, for those who want to learn to dive but don’t want to brave the cold waters of the UK this winter, our PADI Open Water referral programme is just the ticket. It allows you to get ready without having to venture from our classroom or 31C heated pool. An ideal winter warmer, the referral programme starts every weekend.
We also have a PADI Rescue Diver programme starting on January 19th. The skills will help you prevent and prepare for diving emergencies. With this qualification you could easily find yourself the most popular buddy on the boat with people wanting to take the plunge with a Rescue Diver. In a recent survey of Aquasport divers’ favourite cert card it proved a popular choice.

Some might say we are a funny bunch at Aquasport because we have have been waiting all summer for the clocks to go back – and that is so we can take you of your first night diving experience with the PADI Night Diver Specialty.
The underwater world takes on a new dimension at night as your torch sweeps through the water, igniting a spectrum of colour and marine life that likes to hide during the day. Even familiar sites like Dosthill take on a whole new life at night.
So if you are toying with the idea of packing your kit away for the season or if you think Thursday’s club dives at Dosthill are off the menu then think again because Aquasport instructors are ready to show you the dive site in a whole new light with the Night Diver Specialty.
In as little as – and it promises to brighten up your diving at Dosthill.
Sharks. We love ’em. That’s certainly the feeling we got from Aquasport club members who attended the two AWARE Shark Conservation presentations held at the centre.
We discovered that sharks are crucial to marine ecosystems. They maintain a balance in populations of prey species and keep the ocean healthy by removing ill or diseased animals. And we want to go and dive with them.
We also learned the shocking statistics of the unseen shark slaughter going on around the globe. Millions are snatched from the oceans each year to feed different industries, whether it’s for their fins for tasteless soup, their liver oil for cosmetics or their jaws for some gruesome trinket.
It would have been easy for you to walk away from the presentations feeling nothing but doom and gloom. But, typical of Aquasport divers you resolved to step up to become a champion of shark protection and take action to help them. The future of sharks hinges on holding shark fishing and trade to sustainable levels.

The clocks have gone back and the dark nights are well and truly here – but you don’t have to let the sun set on your diving just yet. That’s because Aquasport can light the way with a catalogue of new night diving torches.
The latest to hit the shelves in the past few weeks is a range of torches from Intova. Promising a flashlight for every need, the Hawaii-based company offers everything from a low cost compact to a high-powered mega torch.
With compact ergonomic designs and rugged construction, the torches utilise modern LED technology which means there are no costly bulbs to break and replace. And with 100,000 hours of operational time, these LEDS are good for a lifetime!
The new range perfectly complements the sought-after Hollis torches that are proving such a hit with Aquasport divers and staff alike. And with the new range of Hollis technical canister torches coming soon it promises to be a very, very bright night diving season. → Read more
YOU know the picture, you’ve got back from a weekend of diving, amazed your work colleagues with tales of your underwater exploits and one or two of them say: “I’d love to try that.”
Well, now you can give them a chance to see for themselves what gets you excited with Aquasport International’s Discover Scuba Diving group sessions.
Just bring them down to our training pool and let our dedicated dive team do the rest by introducing them to the wonders of the weightless underwater world in a safe environment.
As try dives go, it has to be the ultimate experience. And here at Aquasport, we are offering you chance to try one of our rebreathers on for size as we host the second Hollis open night next Thursday, 11th October, from 3pm to 9pm.
The latest range of tec diving gear, including wings, twinsets, sidemounts, stage cylinders and deco bottles, will be on show and you will get the chance to dive with it yourself in our heated training pool.
But if you want to see what it is like diving ‘bubble free’ in one of our Inspiration closed circuit rebreathers or ‘almost bubble free’ with one of our Draeger semi-closed rebreathers then you best get a move on because we only have seven spots left.
The sessions will last for about 30 minutes. As expected, they are proving popular so you will need to call the centre and book one if you don’t want to miss out.
Outside of the Dive Show, we can’t think of anywhere else you that will offer you this opportunity. Unfortunately, due to time constraints only paid up club members can book for these.
So you think you know Dosthill? Well, think again because Aquasport instructors are ready to show you the dive site in a whole new light with the Night Diver Specialty.
The summer – if that’s what we can call it – may now be behind us and the darker nights are closing in, but that’s no reason to mothball your dive kit for the year just yet.
Starting next month, Aquasport International will be launching its dedicated Night Diver training programme – and it promises to brighten up your diving at Dosthill.
For the mysterious underwater world takes on a whole new dimension as your torch sweeps through the water, igniting a spectrum of colour and marine life that likes to hide during the day. And even familiar sites take on a whole new life at night. → Read more
