All of the materials for the programmes that make up the Fastrack Gold are included in the cost of the programme. Once you have enrolled on your Instructor programme you have full use of the facilities available at Aquasport to prepare yourself for this intensive course.

Action

What will I do?

PADI IDC Gold

By completing the whole Instructor Development Course in one go you will gain experience learning the PADI System of Diver Education. You will learn to manage and adapt the PADI System to individual student needs. Comprehensive training supported by a wide variety of PADI educational materials earn PADI Instructors the respect of both their students and fellow dive professionals.

The IDC has more than twenty presentations delivered by our full time PADI Course Director. In these academic development sessions you learn to conduct all the core PADI programmes from Discover Scuba Diving through to Divemaster, as well as the business of diving and marketing tips. You will be taught how to plan lessons for the classroom and for both confined and open water training. You will present a minimum number of each of these during the programme where your Course Director and his staff will offer you encouragement and advice to help you perfect your teaching techniques.

All of your training is geared towards development. Once you have reached the required standards you will receive your IDC Certificate of Completion and will be able to attend a PADI Instructor Examination.

Once you have successfully completed your Instructor Examination you will then embark on the remaining programmes from the Gold package. You will complete the Emergency First Response Instructor, five PADI Instructor Specialties and the Dan Instructor Qualification Course and the DAN Diving First Responder Instructor course.

If you are already at Instructor level from another recognised scuba training agency you can make yourself more marketable by becoming a PADI Instructor. PADI will recognise your experience and you may only need to complete an orientation to the PADI System before going onto your Instructor Examination.

Time

How long will it take?

The PADI Divemaster or equivalent certification is required for you to start your Gold package. Divers certified through other agencies should contact the centre as there may be additional requirements to your certification.

A valid certification in First Aid & CPR, the EFR programme is ideal for this. A Diving Medical signed by a physician dated from within one year of your programme dates, we recommend the HSE medical if you wish to work as an Instructor in the UK.

You will need to hold both the Emergency First Response and Care for Children certifications at consumer level as well as the DAN Diving First Responder at consumer level. If you are intending to include the PADI Enriched Air Diver Instructor in the MSDT Prep you will need to hold this certification at consumer level. If you do not hold some or all of these certifications then the cost of these programmes will need to be added to the total cost of the Gold programme.

As well as the PADI IDC Crew Pack already mentioned above, the standard PADI manuals and coinciding materials from your previous programmes are required. Equipment rental is not included in the cost so you will need to rent from us or bring your own. A full list of requirements is available at the centre on request.
