PADI Advanced Open Water
Welcome to the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver programme. Why miss diving on that wreck just because it lies at 28m, or hanging up your fins when October arrives because you have never used a drysuit. As you progress beyond the PADI Open Water Diver level, you will be moving up and experiencing adventures dives such as deep diving, wreck diving and much more. With your PADI Instructor you will build on the skills you have mastered and boost your confidence in the many areas of diving yet undiscovered.
How do I get started?
As with the Open Water programme, everything you need is included in the cost of the programme. Just pick your dates if you can and pay your £75 deposit and we will give you your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver manual, The Adventures in Diving and your adventure slate which you will need to start the programme.
What will I do?
Three adventure dives from the Adventures in Diving manual. These include but are not limited to Drysuit, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search & Recovery, Wreck, Boat, Digital Photography, Night and DPV. These dives can be arranged with your Instructor and fellow divers to suit the areas which interest you and the group the most.
You will also complete the two core dives, Deep and Navigation. These two dives are fundamental to your education. The Deep Dive extends your recommended maximum depth to 30m by allowing you to experience the effects of pressure at depth under the guidance of your PADI Instructor. The Navigation Dive expands on the skills you were taught in your Open Water programme.
How long will it take?
This programme is completed in as little as one weekend starting on a Friday at 6.30pm. Midweek dives are also available by prior arrangement.
What will I need?
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver programme is open to all divers holding an entry level certification equivalent to the PADI Open Water Diver. So it doesn’t matter if you have only completed your qualifying dives or you have hundreds of dives in your log book. This programme has something for everyone.
A £75 deposit is required to book your Advanced Open Water training and you will receive your PADI Adventures in Diving manual to start you on your way. You will also need your own diving knife, torch, and timing device. The knife and torch can be purchased from the shop at the start of your programme. It is always a good move to buy your own dive computer, but we will supply one for the weekend if you prefer. Please note that knives will only be sold from the shop to divers over the age of 18yrs.
You will also need to fill out a self certification medical statement. If you have any medical conditions you think may prevent you from scuba diving please feel free to contact us and we will try to be of assistance.
PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Programme £299.
A £75 deposit is required when you book your programme with Aquasport.
Balance of payment is due two weeks prior to the start of your training.
Courses start on the Friday evening of the second weekend of every month, with extra dates added throughout the summer months. Call the centre for the latest course information on 0121 706 6628 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Where can I go from here?
The Advanced Open Water certification is the prerequisite qualification for the PADI Rescue Diver programme as well as several of the more in-depth specialties.
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver programme also opens the door to many of the various levels of technical diving available here at Aquasport. Many divers have told us that this programme gave them the focus on which they have based the rest of their diving education.
