Inspiration CCR Diver
The full range of Rebreather Specific PSAI programmes guides the diver in very practical methodologies and techniques of the use of their specific rebreather for a variety of applications. The programmes are based on the most up to date information and training techniques available.
This is an entry level Inspiration CCR certification programme for qualified Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures divers wishing to utilise air diluent fixed and variable partial pressure oxygen closed circuit rebreathers.
The programme qualifies you to dive to a maximum depth of 40m without decompression techniques and 45m with prior decompression techniques training.
How do I get started?
As with all of the technical diving education programmes at Aquasport you start with the training materials. A deposit of £100 is required to book your PSAI Inspiration CCR Diver. We will provide you with the PSAI CCR Diver manual for you to study prior to the start of your training.
What will I do?
During your programme you will cover the following:
- The mechanics of an Inspiration CCR
- Rebreather physiology
- Gas consumption and decompression
- Dive Planning considerations
- Emergency proceedures
You use recreational scuba equipment, with some minor additions to enhance your ability to deal with CCR diving conditions.
You will participate in at least one confined water training session and at least six open water training dives with your instructor, to a maximum depth of 40m.
How long will it take?
The PSAI CCR Diver takes place over a minimum of four days. The first day will concentrate on completing the theory sections from the PSAI manual and the Inspiration user manual.
You will also complete at least one confined water training session in our own site training pool.
The remaining six open water training dives will be scheduled to be completed over three further training days.
What will I need?
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification or equivalent, the PADI Deep Diver Specialty and the PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty or equivalent as well as the PADI Tec 45 Diver or equivalent certification are the prerequisites for the PSAI Inspiration CCR Diver.
You will also need to have proof of at least 100 logged dives, of which at least 10 dives were made with enriched air deeper than 30m.
The use of a school rebreather, all standard and technical scuba equipment requirements, site entry fees, boat fees and air and enriched air fills are not included in the price of the PSAI Inspiration CCR Diver.
The minimum age of enrollment on this programme is 18yrs.
You will need to fill out a self certification medical statement and also have it signed by a doctor prior to the start of your training. If you have any medical conditions you think may prevent you from scuba diving please feel free to contact us and we will try to be of assistance.
PSAI Inspiration CCR Diver £600.
Hire of a school CCR unit is additional for those divers without their own. The cost of hire is £25 for each training day.
You will also be required to purchase a tub of sofnolime and Buddy Clean for use during your programme. Full costs and details on request.
The PSAI Inspiration CCR Diver course fee is based on four full days training. If you are unable to complete the performance prerequisites required for certification, additional training days are charged at £150 a day.
A £100 deposit is required when you book your PSAI Inspiration CCR Diver with Aquasport. Balance of payment is due two weeks prior to the start of your training.
CCR training dates are based on a minimum requirement of two divers per programme.

Where can I go from here?
Once you have completed your PSAI Inspiration CCR Diver then the obvious next step is onto the PADI Tec Trimix Diver. If you do not yet have the required number of dives then discuss this with your instructor and see if these can be combined with the club diving schedule and arrange for a time to complete these.
