What will I do?

The Emergency First Response Instructor course provides the training necessary to teach the Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First Aid), CPR & AED and Care for Children Courses.

The course builds on your existing skills as a Primary and Secondary Care provider and focuses on developing your instructional abilities. Through independent study, classroom sessions and practice teaching assignments, you will learn how to deliver the Emergency First Response programme to students.

Your role as an Emergency First Response Instructor is to be a coach that creates a positive learning environment. Along with learning how to structure and organise EFR courses, you will practice:

  • Presenting course content.
  • Encouraging self-discovery in students.
  • Evaluating student understanding and skill mastery during hands-on skills practice.
  • Managing effective scenario-based learning experiences.

How do I get started?

Self-study is the first part of the Emergency First Response Instructor programme. The materials you need to complete the programme are contained within a special EFR Instructor Start-Up Pack, which is included in your course fees.

Upon completion of the course, there is an EFR Instructor Registration fee which is payable directly to PADI.

Where can I go from here?
