PADI IDC

If you like people and have a passion for scuba diving, become a PADI Instructor. Teaching scuba diving allows you to share your love of the aquatic world with others while doing what you enjoy - being in, around and under water.

The Instructor Development Course (IDC) is made up of two parts - the Assistant Instructor (AI) course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program. Most dive professionals complete the entire IDC and go on to attend an Instructor Examination (IE), which is the final step to earn a PADI Instructor certification.

Choosing Aquasport gives you the opportunity to start your instructor career in professional surroundings, with an Instructor Development Team including a full time PADI Course Director, Master Instructors and Staff Instructors, all with many years of experience teaching IDCs. Our facilities include the classrooms and onsite training pool needed to practice your teaching skills and local open water sites for convenience.

Our IDCs teach you the knowledge and skills you will need to succeed as a PADI Professional worldwide.

If your previous diver certifications are not with PADI we can combine your training with actual hands on experience both before and after your IDC to help shift your diving knowledge and teaching methods towards the PADI system of diver education.

PADI ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR COURSE £995

Start here to become a PADI Assistant Instructor. Share your passion with others and help them experience the same joy you have for scuba diving.

Successfully completing just the AI course results in a PADI Assistant Instructor qualification. Over two weekends you will learn how to conduct the PADI core courses. You'll be able to organise and present information, conduct skill development sessions and control open water dives.

PADI OPEN WATER SCUBA INSTRUCTOR £425

When an Assistant Instructor is ready to progress, attending an OWSI program allows entry into an IE to earn a full PADI Instructor rating.

Upon successful completion of your OWSI course you will need to attend a 2 day PADI Instructor Examination (IE) to receive your PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor qualification.

The OWSI program allows Instructors already certified with a recreational diving training agency to “crossover” to PADI.

INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT COURSE £1420

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors are the most sought-after dive professionals around the world because they've completed the programme that sets the standard for training dive professionals.

The full IDC encompasses both the AI and OWSI courses, and teaches you to conduct all PADI core courses.  Upon successful completion of your IDC course you will need to attend a 2 day PADI Instructor Examination (IE) to receive your PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor qualification.
