This short experience is designed to introduce divers to basic technical diving equipment, skills and procedures in our on-site training pool. It is an ideal way to try technical diving without commiting to a full training programme.
Curious about technical diving, but not sure about jumping into a certification course? Discover Tec is a short, confined water experience disigned to allow you to try out technical diving. You get to use all the extra technical diving equipment and take it for a test dive. Your PADI Tec Instructor may introduce a few basic skills, such as primary to secondary regulator switch and gas shutdown procedures.
Minimum age: 15 years
Course prerequisites: PADI Open Water Diver and 10 open water dives.
What will I do?
At the start of your session your PADI Tec Instructor will go over the various elements of technical diving equipment, including twin sets and stage rigs and how they are used. You will then take part in a pool session in our on-site pool to get a feel for how the equipment works, practice buoyancy using the twin set configuration and go through a few basic technical diving skills.
How do I get started?
Just pick your dates if you can and pay session fee. Don’t worry if you can’t commit to a date straight away. There are plenty scheduled throughout the year.
How long will it take?
The Discover Tec Diving session usually takes place on an evening and lasts approximately 3 hours. However weekday and weekend sessions during the day are available.
What will I need?
The Discover Tec Diving session is open to all divers over the age of 15 years who hold the PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent and have 10 logged open water dives.
All the equipment you need to complete the programme is included.
You will need to fill out a self-certification medical statement. If you have any medical conditions that you think may prevent you from scuba diving, please feel free to contact us and we will try to be of assistance.
