If you wish to select this option please contact us first so that we can discuss your requirements and work out the best training option for you.

Minimum age: 10 years

Course prerequisites: Able to swim 200 metres and tread water for 10 minutes

What will I do?

You will cover all the dive theory, pool training and open water dives in a schedule worked out with your PADI Instructor.

The theory is completed at your own pace in the comfort of your own home, or even on the train on the way to work, before the course using the PADI eLearning materials.

We then take each of the five modules from the PADI Open Water Diver course and cover these in turn, focusing on practising and perfecting your diving skills. First your Instructor will go over the basic academic principles of diving, then during your first scuba sessions in our heated pool, you will learn the practical skills needed to allow you to dive safely.

Once your skills and knowledge are up to scratch you will move onto the open water dives. At a local open water dive site you will demonstrate your skills over four exciting open water training dives. You will be using a drysuit for these dives to provide maximum comfort. As you will generally use a drysuit for all your future UK dives, why not start as you mean to go on? The open water dives are, again, completed in your own time arranged with your Instructor.

How long will it take?

In as little time or as long as you like. Realistically you could complete all your training within two and a half days if you were willing and able! We cannot guarantee completion times as it’s up to you to master the skills and learn the theory. We can be as flexible as you like with timings; the only thing we cannot change is the opening hours of the open water dive sites.

With all the training facilities in one place we can offer you a training package unmatched by anyone. If you think the Executive Scuba might not be for you there are other options available including Fastrack weekend and midweek packages so if you are in a hurry to complete your training before your holiday or just looking for something to do over the summer we will have the answer. How you complete your training is up to you. Aquasport can offer unlimited pool training so we go along at your pace, not ours.

What will I need?

Just your eLearning login code to start you on your way.

All the equipment you need to complete the programme is included. We recommend that you buy your own mask and snorkel and have a wide range in store, which can be purchased at the start of your course. The fit of your mask is very important so your Instructor will be able to show you how to try on our sample masks and will help you to find one that fits the shape of your face. However, if you're not ready to buy your own just yet, we also have plenty in the school for you to use if needed.

You will also need to fill out a self-certification medical statement. If you have any medical conditions that you think may prevent you from scuba diving, please feel free to contact us and we will try to be of assistance. At the start of the course you will be asked to demonstrate that you can swim 200m in your own time and in any style and perform a safety float (tread water) for ten minutes.

How much does it cost?

The Executive Scuba course is priced to meet the needs of the individual with one-on-one tuition, or for small groups. This is why one-on-one tuition starts from only £699.

Each Executive Scuba is priced individually depending on the schedule and numbers participating.

A £199 deposit is required when you book your programme with Aquasport.

Balance of payment is due four weeks prior to the start of your training.

All the PADI materials and scuba equipment needed to complete the programme are included in the cost. You will need to pay for your entry to the open water dive site and any required air fills while away from the centre. This is approximately £20 for each day.

When can I start?

Dates are to suit. It’s entirely up to you when you want to start.

Where can I go from here?

This is just the beginning of your adventure. The most logical next step is to complete your PADI Advanced Open Water certification. This course builds on what you have learnt during your Open Water programme and introduces you to different aspects of diving such as deep diving and wreck diving.

Aquasport offer the whole range of continuing education programmes for divers, as well as club nights in the pool, trips to the coast or diving holidays abroad. So, whether you just want to dive on your holidays or progress to the professional levels and beyond, Aquasport has something for everyone.
