The PADI Open Water Fastrack Referral is our premium option. Completing your PADI Open Water Referral over just one weekend makes for a quick and convenient way to start your scuba diver training. Perfect for those last minute holiday bookings and short break holidays where your time is most valuable.
You can complete the first part of your training, the theory and pool sessions, here with us at Aquasport. Then head off on your holiday and complete the open water training dives at a PADI Centre local to your destination . If you want to scuba dive while you are away this saves two days of your holiday and you can get stuck into the open water dives as soon as you arrive.
Minimum age: 10 years
Course prerequisites: Able to swim 200 metres and tread water for 10 minutes
What will I do?
The initial theory is completed at your own pace in the comfort of your own home, or even the train on the way to work, before the course using the PADI eLearning materials.
We then take each of the five modules from the PADI Open Water Diver course and cover these in turn, focusing on practising and perfecting your diving skills. First your instructor will go over the basic academic principles of diving, then during your first scuba sessions in our heated pool, you will learn the practical skills needed to allow you to dive safely.
Once your skills and knowledge are up to scratch, we will give you a log book documenting all the training you have completed with us. All you do is show this to your instructor at the centre of your choice at your holiday destination and they will complete your training from where you left off.
How do I get started?
Just pick your dates if you can and pay your £199 deposit and you will receive your PADI Open Water Diver eLearning login details. Don’t worry if you can’t commit to a date straight away. There are plenty scheduled throughout the year and you can get started on the home study as soon as you have received your eLearning code.
How long will it take?
The PADI Fastrack Open Water Referral takes just one weekend. We call it Fastrack because we can condense all the training into just two mornings of accademic and hands on practical training, each followed by a full afternoon pool session to complete the skills needed ready for your open water dives. It's fast, but not rushed. You complete the same training and the same pool time as all our other options, just in a shorter time frame.
You can also do an Executive Referral where you can choose your own schedule. For example, you could organise two afternoons or one day in the pool with your instructor. If you wish to select this option please contact us first as there are additional costs involved.
With all the facilities in one place we can offer you a training package unmatched by anyone, so if you are in a hurry to complete your training before your holiday we will have the answer. How you complete your training is up to you. Aquasport can offer unlimited pool training so we go along at your pace, not ours.
You can upgrade your training to complete the whole programme with us anytime during your schedule. You just pay the balance of the programme you wish to complete.
What will I need?
Just your eLearning login code to start you on your way.
All the equipment you need to complete the programme is included. We recommend that you buy your own mask and snorkel and have a wide range in store, which can be purchased at the start of your course. The fit of your mask is very important so your Instructor will be able to show you how to try on our sample masks and will help you to find one that fits the shape of your face. However, if you're not ready to buy your own just yet, we also have plenty in the school for you to use if needed.
You will also need to fill out a self-certification medical statement. If you have any medical conditions that you think may prevent you from scuba diving, please feel free to contact us beforehand and we will try to be of assistance. At the start of the course you will be asked to demonstrate that you can swim 200m in your own time and in any style and perform a safety float (tread water) for ten minutes.
When can I start?
PADI Open Water Diver Fastrack Referral Programme starts at 9am on the first and third Saturday of every month.
Where can I go from here?
This is just the beginning of your adventure. The most logical next step is to complete your PADI Advanced Open Water certification. This course builds on what you have learnt during your Open Water programme and introduces you to different aspects of diving such as deep diving and wreck diving. If you would like to do some diving in the UK as well as on holiday, then you may wish to do the PADI Dry Suit Specialty in order to be comfortable diving in cooler water.
Aquasport offer the whole range of continuing education programmes for divers, as well as club nights in the pool, trips to the coast or diving holidays abroad. So, whether you just want to dive on your holidays or progress to the professional levels and beyond, Aquasport has something for everyone.
